Little Honda!

September 2, 2008

Im gonna wake you up early
Cause Im gonna take a ride with you
Were going down to the honda shop
Ill tell you what were gonna do
Put on a ragged sweatshirt
Ill take you anywhere you want me to

First gear (honda honda) its alright (faster faster)
Second gear (little honda honda) I lean right (faster faster)
Third gear (honda honda) hang on tight (faster faster)
Faster its alright

Its not a big motorcycle
Just a groovy little motorbike
Its more fun that a barrel of monkeys
That two wheel bike
Well ride on out of the town
To any place I know you like

First gear (honda honda) its alright (faster faster)
Second gear (little honda honda) I lean right (faster faster)
Third gear (honda honda) hang on tight (faster faster)
Faster its alright

It climbs the hills like a matchless
Cause my hondas built really light
When I go into the turns
Lean [tilt] with me and hang on tight
I better turn on the lights
So we can ride my honda tonight

First gear (honda honda) its alright (faster faster)
Second gear (little honda honda) I lean right (faster faster)
Third gear (honda honda) hang on tight (faster faster)
Faster its alright

Ugh.

August 27, 2008

Am back in Singapore.

It’s getting kinda irritating to maintain this blog, ya?

Well anyway life goes on… haven’t changed much except that I’ve acquired a pair of beautiful headphones from Boston. AKG K271s.

And my skateboard was not allowed on the HK flight as hand-carry luggage (it’s a restricted item, classified as a ‘blunt object’) so as a result, I had to leave it in Hong Kong. Which is pretty strange since the US side let the skateboard on the plane. My aunt will probably be collecting the critter on my behalf though.

I gained weight.

Came home to discover that my sis had spoiled Knut’s brake light. Oh well. But I feel kinda lazy to be riding him around right now… hmmm.

Looking forward to straightening up my new life soon.

Boston 23 July 2am in the morning

July 23, 2008

It’s pretty surreal to know that right now it’s 2pm in Singapore and the middle of the afternoon and in Cambridge I’m sitting in the toilet cubicle blogging at 2am and everyone is asleep and I’ve got a pretty violent stomachache.

Anyway it’s nearing the end of the production sprint over here and I must say my stuff is pretty much in order save for a few annoying tasks that I don’t feel like doing, then we enter the POLISH SPRINT (which is not a short race held in Poland, hahahahaha excuse the 2am-in-the-morning joke, it isn’t even funny).

Have an intense desire to just go out walking at 2am in the morning, maybe take a bath and then walk over to Gambit and do some crunching (just for the hell of it) but oh that would fuck up my next day so bad.
Not that I would like to crunch for no reason but I just need to go somewhere so bad.

It’s unbelievable how delightfully my life is spinning out of order.
I’m getting kinda emotional right now, when I get emotional in this way it’s not like I’m dealing with any specific issue it’s more like “fuck it, the hormones again”.

Sometimes when your life is really going along strangely you just let go the damn controls and let the car drive itself and we can all go to hell in a handbusket together (I do realise that this is not one of my most endearing traits though).

I do realise this post is written in kind of a different way from the other posts. It is kind of manic and yet depressive. I suppose cause it’s 2am in the morning.

Cambridge/Boston 20 July 2008

July 21, 2008

Ok more accurately the previous posts should be titled Cambridge/Boston instead of just Boston.

In Boston, everyone says “awesome” a whole lot. Everything is either “awesome” or “cool”. I’m starting to catch it too.

Updates on my situation:

1) Overspent in a very bad way (worst damage done at Wrentham Village) and now I is broke.
2) Am in a kind of strange situation with this guy now… not going to elaborate here.
3) Am extending my stay to travel around part of America and part of Canada after this whole thing is done.

My room has a desk and a big pile of paper and assorted rubbish and food and DVDs on it but it’s still better than my Bostonian friend’s bedroom (he has his own house) which is like totally filled with racks of DVDs and records and everything else is in piles on the floor (clothes, shoes, a mandolin, a decorative knife, a bass, etc.) I know my study room back in Singapore isn’t much better but hey come on at least I don’t have clothes and shoes in the pile ok? I put my piles of clothes in my bedroom and the living room :p

LOL I like to describe my (Singapore) house as a “guys house” cause even though it’s inhabited by two girls and a guy, the house looks like its inhabited by 3 bachelors.

Boston is awesome. There are a lot of good movie screenings here and lots of live music.

We celebrated Independence day here (4th July).

Anyway it was awesome. We were sitting on the bridge over the Charles river and the fireworks were shot from a boat in the middle of the river and the view was just WOW and they went on for really really long, I would think like 30mins. Our group was commenting that the firework display made the Singaporean national day celebration look like sparklers.
Damn you Boston, you ruined all my future Singapore national day firework displays forever LOL
(And mind you that’s just the Boston celebrations).

And,
Jamaican music is awesome.
SKA AND DUB ARE FREAKING AWESOME.

Oh ya and Windows Vista sucks.

AND HERE THE WEATHER IS FREAKING FREAKING HOT AND IT IS HOT AND IT IS HOT AND SKA IS STILL AWESOME.

Sorry for the rather fractured post.

Boston 25062008

June 26, 2008

I is down with frequent dizzy spells and stayed home for 2 days.

CG thinks its because of an iron deficiency and has given me some iron pills.

Whatever it is, I hope it is over soon.
I hate being down.

Som Vatten

June 17, 2008

“Rain licks the whole city
Like a damp, cold tongue
Everything is pavement dirty water
For the lanterns to be reflected in
Going, going past!
All people are shiny like ice
And you get stuck under the light
like a photograph

I see you
I see you
I see you
And I know that you are afraid”

It rained at night just before bed.

Boston 14 June 2008

June 15, 2008

The maddening thing is that we are strongly discouraged from working on weekends or after working hours, but my group somehow decided to schedule a meeting tomorrow (on a Sunday) at 6.00pm, therefore making it both on a weekend and after working hours =_=”‘

Anyway, today we caught the pride parade! It was so fun and colourful!
Now I have a pride necklace and a condom and lots of decals and paper! Yipeee!

And I wasted a lot of money today.

Bought:
1) a top from Urban Outfitters
2) 2 T-shirts from Life is Good (one for me/sis, one for my aunt)
3) a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans at Filene’s basement
4) a Extreme Couture t-shirt at Filene’s basement
5) MX book from Borders (to read when I’m doing laundry)
6) Night and Fog DVD from Borders. This movie is great 🙂

Filene’s basement is a shop that sells off-price branded goods, i.e. you can get branded stuff there cheap 🙂

Damn, need to cut down on spending.
And my prepaid card is outta money too 😦

Had my first meal at Wendy’s today.
I had a salad.
The strange thing is, the salad has a medium-sized piece of chicken in it and it is so large that you can’t order anything else. However, it is too small to keep you full and you end up munching bread in your room at night.
Damn.
This is really going to discourage me from eating vegetables next time.

Boston 13 June 2008

June 14, 2008

Well anyway today I bought a Fox T-shirt 🙂
When people tell you that the portions in US are very large, they also conveniently forget to mention that the portions are also very expensive.
Had some cheaper food today from the food trucks. A mutton kebab wrap for around USD$3+.
In the US most everything is meat, lots of it, and hardly any vegetables. Luckily I managed to clear up my constipation by eating an apple every day.
The “chinese food” doesn’t taste like chinese food at all :s

Going to the Pride Parade with my fren’s mentor and tomorrow! I hope I’m not too short to see anything lol

Boston 12 June 2008

June 12, 2008

Went over the Harvard bridge to this place called Newbury Comics. The CDs here are cheap!
1) The Dark Ride Helloween USD$9.99
2) Kent Kent USD$19.99 (but not carried in Singapore)
3) No World Order Gamma Ray USD$7.99
4) One random present 😉
Total (after taxes): USD$48++

The food in the food courts here are either fast food or “economical” rice thingys. We had 2 slices of pizza shared between three people. Each slice was the size of three slices! O_o
And there is only either fruit juice or soft drinks to drink at food courts.
Elsewhere, you can get those plus coffee or tea or sometimes milk.
They sell green tea with ginseng here in this really Chinese-y Chinese-looking bottle.

Now we are having lectures, lectures and lectures. Formally starting work next wk.

Boston 10 June 2008

June 11, 2008

Hi, I’m in Boston now.
For those who don’t know, I’m here for an internship and will be back in Singapore on early August.

Only reached my hostel yesterday night as the flight from Chicago to Boston was first delayed, then cancelled. We had to put up at the Days Inn on Sunday night and only reached Boston on Monday night, just in time to have no dinner :x. Luckily we had instant noodles that my housemate brought.

The weather in Boston is even hotter than Singapore. Ugh. At least that’s what we experienced on the first day. It’s worse in the room cause the walls here are thick to keep out the cold in winter. Everything here is freaking expensive O_o

Our hostel rooms are in a suite format, with multiple rooms attached to a kitchen and dining area. We have two toilets, with a total of 3 bathing cubicles so no issues about waiting. It’s quite spacious at least. The bad thing is that the dining area is infested with little flying bugs and there is only a pot, a saucepan, a frying pan and 3 pot lids, totally no cutlery, hangers etc. (That changed cause people bought some)

Yesterday we didn’t work, just went exploring round Cambridge. I had a stomachache from constipation (no fibre so I bought apples). My roommate wasn’t feeling well too and she’s been sleeping since we left for dinner last night (she didn’t go with us).

Hope you guys are fine over there in Singapore.
And hope you guys not in Singapore are fine wherever you are 🙂
