The white board, with assignments and a cubist musical note. It was this dark in there, and I didn’t use the flash.
Hands painted on a sheet of plastic. I sort of “hacked” the painting by intentionally including our reflections in it as well so that the hands are all reaching at us and mauling us to death (Now what the hell am I talking about? Oh dear…)
View of our school from the art rooms and the wonderful synthetic track we helped raise money to build, and now they’re going to tear it all away.
Cement fish. The black and white cow-spotted one is mine, it’s name is Tobi and it’s inspired by Tobias Sammet’s cow pants. When we made them, they told us we could bring them home. Three years later, they’re still sitting in the school, the stands have rusted, and the people who made them are all dead and gone have all graduated.
As I am typing this, I suddenly remember I left a patch of cement with a smiley face on it in the basketball court, and I FORGOT TO CHECK OUT MY LUMP OF CEMENT!!! AND NEXT YEAR THEY’RE GOING TO HACK IT UP!!!!
We left the Art rooms and, went down the stairs.

Today, I went back to my old school, SNGS.
I was woken up by my handphone ringing and to my surprise, it was my friend Muthu, and she was like “We’re going back to school?” And I was like “Huh?” Turns out they were going to tear down the school and move to a temporary school in Toa Payoh so she decided to go and poke around. And being a kaypoh, I decided to go poke around too with my camera cause my camera has been accompanying me everywhere these days.
I wanted to ride my bike Swifty there, but as soon as I’d done cleaning him up, it started to rain.
And when we reached school, we found out from one of our teachers that they were only going to move next year. Ooookay…
Photos:
After having lunch, we visited the Art room, where I used to angst and suffer through projects that wouldn’t look right no matter what I did to them.
A sculpture of a face beside a clay shit. “Wow! Someone like me (made this)!” I said, and tried to move the shit. Unfortunately it was stuck to the table. For a moment, I thought everything had been stuck to the table too, but no. Just the shit. We messed up the stuff that wasn’t stuck trying to find out if they were stuck or not, and then left.
Chairs on the tables, just like in the old days.
Painted stools. They’re scattered all over the place now, but I found a few in the little room attached to Art Room 2. The black and white one with the little creatures was painted by me, and I suppose it is so ugly that they have to hide it here.
And up on one of the high shelves, I saw a painting of me. Another candidate for my blog header picture. But then, I’ll have to change my blog name to ‘SATan’s Cellar’, so I guess the old one will have to stay.
A row of coloured pencil sharpeners.
Unfortunately, I have to end this post here to save it from becoming too long because there are too many Art room photos.
